"the switch"...

last night in his crib...(also the last good night of sleep we've gotten;)

riles helping daddy convert the bed...apparently, she thinks she's the resident expert...the second pic is from 2007 when the crib first went up...reading warren the instructions;)

the big boy bed! we don't have the comforter, bedskirt or second sham yet...but none of those are crucial to will sleeping. he uses NO covers and only cares about the "bee-bee" sheets!

had to sort through and reorganize his books...thought i'd take a pic before he got home...because it's the last time it will look like this;)

the big reveal after he got home from gram & gramps house!

naming all the different kinds of bee-bee's.

so proud!

will spent labor day weekend with gram and gramps so that warren and i could work on will's big boy room and some other projects! that had been the plan for awhile...but then he figured out how to climb out of his bed a couple of weeks earlier. which was probably a good thing, because i was questioning the decision...and after he became a monkey that confirmed it! it's been almost a week now, and we sure do miss the "good sleeper" that he was...going to sleep on his own and sleeping through the night...usually until 8:00ish!!! now he wants one of us to stay with him until he's asleep, wakes AT LEAST once a night, if not 2 or 3 times...and is up before 7:00. that's right...this morning i (elaine) was up at 6:55 a.m...and if you know me well, you know that's against my religion;) guess this is God's way of preparing us for the sleepless nights around the corner with emma kate! just wish we hadn't waited until the last few weeks of this pregnancy to do the switch...oh well...hindsight;) so if anyone has any suggestions for us on how to make this transition smoother, we're all ears!!!

Hey...Will, I love your room. Wow, what hard-working sheets. I love the new art in your room too. So Cool! We will be there before you know it; can't wait. Love, Grannie

Lovin' the big boy bed!! Maybe it will get easier when Emma Kate arrives??? Or not. Sorry, I'm not much help.

Love his room!
What worked for us was going in and telling him what a great job he was doing staying in his bed...then he stopped getting out of it. (alot at first...then back down), plus a night light and permission to read in bed.
Good luck!
