advice, please!

we are about to embark on a big adventure in our household: oh yes, potty training, here we come! will seems pretty interested and so i bought the elmo potty last week and we've been getting familiar with the whole concept. hopefully he's ready, but if not, we'll take a break and try again when he is ready. i've been waiting for his mdo to end for the "school year" before we officially got started. and also doing a little research online, since i have never potty trained a two year old little boy before and am basically clueless;) SO...i welcome any and all advice anyone has to share...i am all ears;)

Elaine - we have not yet started this adventure. (Well, we have a potty and Jackson rarely sits on it - that's about as far as we've gotten). My doctor said we should perhaps start trying sometime this summer. I asked Jackson's teacher for advice right when he turned 2, and she gave me a DVD to watch (I just watched it last night, exciting weekends, huh?). Basically, www.pull-ups.com (Big Kid Central section) has the same info that was on the video. Some of it common sense, but a good overview, I guess. :) Let me know how it goes with Will!!!

We went through it recently and my advice would be to wait until he is ready. Once Caroline decided she wanted to do it, it was easy. But I do hear girls are easier then boys :). We had a potty that would sing to Caroline everytime she went and she loved it!! Lots and Lots and praise worked with her, she loved all the attention. Actually we still praise for poo :)!!! (Did you ever think you would praise for poo??)
