R.M. "Jack" May

February 3, 1911 - June 25, 2008

We received a phone call late last night with the news that our dear friend passed away in his sleep. What a blessing he was to us and many others during his 97 years on this earth...we are sad (selfishly) and at the same time rejoicing in knowing that he is whole as he receives his Heavenly reward! To those of you who haven't heard any of our Jack & Jody stories...they were our precious neighbors at our first home in LR. What a pair they were...an absolute hoot...very witty for their age and we enjoyed them so much! Theirs was the house that all the kids in the neighborhood went to for Popsicles...they were never able to have children of their own, but let me tell you, they were most definitely the neighborhood grandparents! We adopted them as another set of grandparents...and actually, when I was looking for photos for this post, I found them on a DVD marked "family photos". We enjoyed many a dinner at Franke's Cafeteria, Jack's treat...celebrated every birthday and anniversary (because when you're in your 90's, every year counts!)...Jack's also the one that told Warren not to pass on the olives at dinner..."because they're the fruit of passion", he said...ha! We'll miss our favorite "Pine Bluff Zebra"...so until we meet again...we love you, Jack!

P.S. - Please keep Jody in your prayers...I can't imagine what it must be like to lose your sweetheart of 75+ years:(
P.P.S. - Please note that is not a pager or a cell phone that Jack is wearing on his belt...it is his garage door opener! Once he stopped driving and had to ride with others, this was standard procedure...too cute!

So glad you shared. What a priceless treasure you and Warren have had in having had Jack and Jodie touch your lives....a real blessing from above. AND how blessed they were to have had you guys in their "dash" there in LR. We will be praying for Jodie (and you guys) in the days to come. Love you guys, Grannie
